We generally recommend planning for 1.5 to 3 individual desserts per guest. The ideal quantity depends on your event, and what else will be served.
If guests will be eating a full meal beforehand or other dessert vendors will be present, approximately 1.5 desserts per guest may be sufficient. For a dessert-focused event, cocktail reception or celebration with a longer service period, we recommend planning for 2 to 3 desserts per guest.
Not sure what your event needs? Tell us your guest count, menu and event format, and we’ll help you choose an appropriate quantity without overordering.
-
Yes, but the recommended setup time depends on the desserts selected, the venue temperature and whether refrigeration is available.
For example, if setup is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and the event begins at 1:30 p.m., we may recommend keeping chilled desserts refrigerated until closer to guest arrival or selecting desserts that hold up better during the waiting period. Outdoor events and warm venues may require additional planning.
Share your setup time, event start time and venue conditions with us, and we’ll recommend the best desserts and handling plan for your event.
-
Cupcakes, cake pops, brownie bites, sandwich cookies and rice crispy treats generally hold up better when desserts must be displayed before guests arrive. Cheesecakes, flan, tiramisu, mousse-style shooters and other chilled desserts should remain refrigerated until closer to serving.
Because every venue and event schedule is different, we recommend sharing your setup and serving times before ordering. We can help you build a dessert assortment that looks beautiful and remains enjoyable for your guests.
-
The best table size depends on the number of desserts, platters and decorative elements being used. A six-foot table works well for many small and midsize dessert spreads.
For approximately 60 to 100 individual desserts, a six-foot table can work well when elevated platters, risers or decorative elements are used to add height and create a fuller presentation. Without elevation or styling, a smaller table may make the same quantity feel more abundant.
